Larger slot is a time-saving alternative for customers who currently must drill on-site to accommodate 5/8-inch threaded rods
Thomas & Betts, a member of the ABB Group, is now offering Superstrut® punched with half-slot holes large enough to accommodate 5/8-inch threaded rod. The new configuration offers a time savings to installers who have been drilling holes in solid strut on-site to accommodate larger rods. The new 12-gauge steel strut is available in 10- and 20-foot lengths with GoldGalv®, SilverGalv® or pre-galvanized finishes. Each half-slot hole, spaced 2 inches apart from center to center, is 1-1/16 inches wide and 1-1/8 inches long to accept all sizes of threaded rod up to 5/8 inches in diameter. “At Thomas & Betts and ABB, we pride ourselves on finding ways to save our customers time and money,’’ said Mark Meyer, global product manager for metal framing. “This is a simple innovation that can spare installers from having to do lots of on-site drilling work.”
